Molly joins Document Scotland for her student placement

Hello, my name is Molly Fisher, and I am a photography student from Coatbridge. I am currently studying photography at Edinburgh Napier university following my higher national diploma at City of Glasgow College. Over the next few months, I will be undergoing placement with Document Scotland as part of my studies.

Over the past few years, I have found myself mostly drawn to documentary photography and am looking forward to using this placement as an opportunity to gain more experience and insight into the industry whilst working closely with the collective.

My work is often inspired by themes of youth, community and working-class culture. I have included work from my project ‘Hoops’, exploring the relationship between football and working-class culture. The series includes thoughtful portraits of football fans exploring the pride and sense of belonging their football community brings them.

During this placement, I hope to create some interesting pieces of writing for the website and conduct some interesting interviews all whilst gaining more industry relevant experience.
